Mexican Lime Tree

            What is this Mexican Lime tree? Well is you see like this before this is a strong tree with the fern sizes from 6 ½ to 13 feet or 2-4m in high where it also has a  slim, extended branches and usually has various, very pointed and auxiliary spines to 3/8 inches or 1cm long. If you will see that the tree is substituting leaves, you will notice that the smell of it is pleasant and the shape is being elliptic or oblong. The color of the skin of this is green and shiny when half-grown while it is light yellow when matured.

            The Mexican Lime tree is originally came from the region of Indo-Malayan where it was undiscovered in Europe and it moves to North America. In the mid of 13th century, it was improve and famous in Italy and apparently also in France. It was assuredly offered into the Caribbean Islands and Mexico by the Spaniards, for it was announced usually grown in Haiti in 1520. In the West Indies and Mexico it quickly became inherited. Lime tree planted by Dr. Henry Perrine from Yucatan on Indian Key and possibly somewhere else and the perfume of this lime trees in Southern Florida was reach to be rise in 1839. This Mexican Lime tree became well-known as a doorway fruit and was develop economically on a little scale in Orange and Lake Counties by 1883. When pineapple family was left on the Florida Keys because of soil deficiency and the 1906 hurricane, people start planting limes as an alternative crop for the Keys and for the islands of Ft. Myers on the west coast. This fruits were relish in saltwater and send to Boston where it became most snacks for children in school. Between 1913 and 1923 there was a small enterprise who is doing well, but later on it was eliminated by the known hurricane of 1926. After that, the lime tree was become a common doorway again to supply on the Keys and the Southern piece of the Florida mainland. George D. Fleming Jr., the master of Key lime associates and in the Rock Harbor, was the one who showed this fruit as a main product for them. The upper Florida chamber of Commerce introduced in 1954 and once in 1959 with the support of the upper keys of Kiwanis Club to enrich the operation in moving the interest and inspired those residents to plant the lime because someday it might lose them.
